Random Curiosity

During my last week in Japan, I finally stopped by a movie theater in order to watch the final chapter of the Hana Yori Dango TV drama—Hana Yori Dango Final the movie. While I’m not sure what movie ticket prices are like in other countries, tickets in Japan (1,800 yen) are noticeably higher than I’m what I’m used to back at home. With that said, the level of Japanese used in the dialogue was well within my abilities, so at least I got to enjoy my first Japanese movie theater experience to the fullest. I’ve included spoiler-free impressions below, plus a lengthy, fully detailed summary (written as accurately as possible from memory), for those of you who just can’t wait to find out what happened. Summary:
When Tsukushi returns to the hospital, she finds that Tsukasa is already gone from his room.

Summary:
After having seen Ken on the street, Tsukasa chases his old friend until he corners Ken underneath a highway.

Summary:
Having seen Tsukushi and Tsukasa holding hands, Kaede orders Tsukasa to come see her tomorrow in her office.

Summary:
Seeing that Tsukasa is ready to say something that she doesn’t want to hear, Shigeru reminds him that he was the one who chose her.

Summary:
As the old lady Tama starts laying out Tsukushi’s new strict schedule, Tsukasa comes over to say that he won’t allow her to become a servant.

Summary:
After getting called and quickly hung up by Tsukushi, Rui rushes over to her apartment and arrives just in time to see her getting into the car with Nishida.

Summary:
After Shigeru caught Tsukasa on top of her and then runs out, Tsukushi wants to give chase and try to explain things so that Shigeru doesn’t get the wrong idea.

Summary:
After Tsukasa abandoned dinner to run to the hospital where Tsukushi was taken, his mother is forced to apologize to Shigeru’s parents.

Summary:
Having witnessed the kiss between Shigeru and Tsukasa, Tsukushi walks away from the meeting spot and doesn’t see Tsukasa push Shigeru onto the ground.
